The Media Watch Project held the first workshop for media professionals and students on the 28th of August 2009. The workshop took place at Fakoship Plaza offices in Buea and covered issues related to news-writing skills.

The attendees were professionals from newspapers and radio stations, as well as students from the School of Journalism of University of Buea.

This workshop is only the first one of a series of training sessions that the MWP is organizing for professional and students. Workshops and seminars represent the core of the training section that constitutes the MWP.

Three interns took part in the preparation of the said workshop: Giorgio Alan Franco, Michele Sanna and Heather McKinnon. Heather was chosen as the facilitator of the successful training session and she drew upon her extensive global experience as a journalist.
